ST PAUL LOCAL ELECTION POSTING - May 7, 2022
The 2022 general election for officers for the Town of St. Paul will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. 
The first day to file for candidacy is Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Office hours are 9:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. (CST) Monday – Thursday.
Applications should be submitted at 2505 Butscher’s Block, St. Paul, TX.  The last day to file for candidacy is Friday, February 18, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. (CST).
Council seats 3,5, and Mayor are up for election and each for a two-year term. 
Candidacy requirements:
  • MUST be at least 18 years of age
  • MUST have resided continuously in Texas one (1) year prior to filing date
  • MUST have resided continuously in St. Paul six (6) months immediately preceding the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot
  • if applying for Alderman
  • MUST have resided continuously in St, Paul twelve months prior to election day if applying for Mayor
  • MUST be registered to vote in St. Paul
  • MUST NOT have been finally convicted of a felony (unless pardoned)
  • MUST satisfy any other requirements prescribed by law for the office.

NOTICE FOR CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD:
The Town of St. Paul will conduct its regular election on Saturday, May 7, 2022.   The first day to file for a place on the ballot will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  The last day to file for a place on the ballot will be Friday, February 18, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. (CST) Applications for a place on the ballot are available at the St. Paul Town Hall located at 2505 Butscher’s Block, St. Paul, TX 75098.  Applications must be filed at the same address. 

St. Paul Town Hall hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm for obtaining and filing an application for a place on the ballot.  Friday, February 18, 2022, is the LAST DAY FOR FILING AN APPLICATION FOR A PLACE ON THE BALLOT and town hall will open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CST) on this day. 
Council seats 3, 5, and Mayor are up for election. Each seat is for a two-year term.
