ST PAUL LOCAL ELECTION POSTING - May 4, 2024
The 2024 general election for officers for the Town of St. Paul will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
The first day to file for candidacy is Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Office hours are 9:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. (CST) Monday – Thursday.
Applications should be submitted at 2505 Butscher’s Block, St. Paul, TX. The last day to file for candidacy is Friday, February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. (CST).
Council seats Mayor, 3 and 5 are up for election and each for a two-year term.
CANDIDACY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLIC OFFICE: - Must be a United States Citizen
- Must be a registered voter on the date of the election
- Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline
- Must be a resident of the Town of St. Paul
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable
- Must have not been determined by a final judgement of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be (a) totally mentally incapacitated; or (b) partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote
- Must have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilites
- Must have resided in the State of Texas for 1 year prior to the filing deadline.
- Must have resided in the Town of St. Paul for 1 year prior to election day if applying for Mayor
- Must have resided in the Town of St. Paul for 6 months prior to filing deadline if applying for Alderman
- Must satisfy any other requirements prescribed by law for the office.

NOTICE FOR CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD:
The Town of St. Paul will conduct its regular election on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The first day to file for a place on the ballot will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The last day to file for a place on the ballot will be Friday, February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. (CST) Applications for a place on the ballot are available at the St. Paul Town Hall located at 2505 Butscher’s Block, St. Paul, TX 75098. Applications must be filed at the same address.
St. Paul Town Hall hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm for obtaining and filing an application for a place on the ballot. Friday, February 16, 2024, is the LAST DAY FOR FILING AN APPLICATION FOR A PLACE ON THE BALLOT and town hall will open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CST) on this day.
Council seats Mayor, 3 and 5 are up for election. Each seat is for a two-year term.

Notice is hereby given of a drawing to determine the order in which the names of candidates are to be printed on ballot for the Town of St Paul General Election to be held on May 4, 2024. The drawing will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at St Paul Town Hall located at 2505 Butscher’s Block, St Paul, TX.
