Speeding Penalties (Sep 2006)
Your Town Council met with Sheriffs' department representatives to discuss the issue of speeding that is occurring on our Town streets.
The Sheriffs representatives stated that the are unable to ticket speeders because the Town had set lower speed limits that override the state limits and prevent them from being able to enforce ours. Council has now repealed the existing limits and is in the process of replacing the speed signs in the Town. Any resident can then call the sheriffs' department at 1-972-547-5100, report any speeding and ask them to target specific recurring occurrences.
